and that in some levels you can use stealth to get past mutants (and I don't mean in such a way like the librarians in 2033, but in LL you could go past mutants and if they didn't saw you, they wouldn't attack) or moments like in one level, when you kill out of fear a flying mutant on a roof, but they you find her nest and there is a little flying mutant and in that moment you learn that the mother was just trying to protect her little one (but you can use stealth, and I think you even get an achievement for not killing the mother) or when at first you fight in a boss battle against a mutant bear, you almost kill it, but after some moments you see that she too was protecting her little ones and now she was attacked by other mutants who tried to kill her but you have the option to save her and after that that bear gives you a little nod with her head and her little ones are happy to have their mother alive and are just jumping around her :) really nice moments that in other typical, mainstream West shooters you wouldn't find but there are many like these in Metro LL. everything has it's purpose, everything has it's place.

LL has in my opinion more open levels, it has more hidden rooms, you have more ways you can take in almost every level, the different metro stations are more free to explore, LL has more little sidequests than 2033, LL doesn't have as many QTE as 2033 did and in one case it has pretty much a big area level where you can go anywhere you want (but only if there's nothing that can kill you, of course :)), 2033 has even more levels where you are following someone who is talking about the world and his own views on the society or future :).Īnd the pacing is godlike in LL compared to 2033 - don't get me wrong, I love 2033 but some levels there weren't really good or interesting - but LL doesn't have any level that I would like to skip.
